DENNY DILLON Denny Dillon is a Tony-nominated stage, television and film actress and comedien. She guest- starred on the first season of Saturday Night Live in 1975 and became a cast member in season six (’80-81). She made her film debut as “Doreen” in the iconic movie Saturday Night Fever and her Broadway debut in Gypsy starring Angela Lansbury. In 1983, Dillon was a Tony nominee “best supporting actress in a musical” for My One & Only starring Tommy Tune & Twiggy. A familiar television face Denny received a CableACE Award “best actress in a comedy series” for the early hit HBO series Dream On, which ran six seasons. In 2020 guest-starred on HBO’s The Outsider, based on the Stephen King novel. Other television credits include Law & Order: SVU, Louie, Designing Women ,and the original Night Court (Bull’s girlfriend). On film this spring 2021, Dillon worked with Owen Wilson on his movie Paint. She plays herself as Host of a PBS-TVfundraiser, and is featured as “Crazy Esther” in the soon-to-be- released movie Bruised, directed by and starring Halle Berry. A professional improvisor, Dillon created a company Improv Nation; and teaches Improv to actors in NYC and Master Classes at colleges and universities. As a writer, she has written several one-woman shows. Some of her monologues have been published as well as performed on NPR. Presently she is finishing a book of memoirs. Denny started in voiceovers in 1981 after getting a call from an Atlantic Records executive who saw her on SNL and loved her voice and characters. She was also asked by George Carlin to work with him and add her character voices to his album: A Place To Put My Stuff.
