JOE HART- Has had an extensive career in the entertainment field, as an Actor , Producer, Writer. Joe’s theatrical beginnings started in NY after attending SUNY FREDONIA ( the first BFA in Musical Theater Program in the country), received his Equity card in the first regional production of Shenandoah which featured Ron Holgate. He continued preforming in theaters throughout the eastern region, eventually becoming a member of the First National Tour of The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas with Alexis Smith, Directed by Tommy Tune and Peter Masterson. This lead to his first featured role in the film version with Dolly Parton, Burt Reynolds and Charles Durning, directed by Colin Higgins. Years later Joe was also in the original Broadway company of The Best Little Whorehouse Goes Public, directer by both Tune and Masterson. Evidently Joe has had a propensity for Whorehouses. Upon shifting coasts and moving to LA, Joe was cast in Ron Link’s “Bouncers” at the Tiffany Theater, which ran for a year, culminating in an Off Broadway run with Anthony LaPaglia. Once back in LA, Film and TV appearances mounted, working with such luminary directors as Blake Edwards, Paul Schrader, Jim Mangold, Sam Raimi, Brett Leonard, Peter Hyams, Paris Barcley, Gail Mancuso, Tom Spezialy, Jill Soloway, to namedrop a few. Throughout this time, Joe continued to work in The LA and NY Theater scene, with most notable appearing on Broadway in ‘Bonnie and Clyde” directed by Jeff Cahoun, originating the role of the Sheriff, as well as the national tours of “Priscilla Queen of the Desert”, and “Annie Get Your Gun” with Marilu Henner. Joe received an Ovation Award for Best Supporting Actor in “The Angels of Lemnos”, was nominated for Best Actor in “The Woman in Black” both directed by Ken Sawyer. Recently, Joe appeared in the revisited version of Lily Tomlin’s “Search for Signs of Intelligent Life” at the LGBT center, and in Jill Soloway’s “I Love Dick”. In the Independent Film scene, Joe can be seen in “Last Call at Murray’s” with John Savage and Michael Gross, and “Life Inside Out” directed by Jill D’Agnenica. Joe also producer and appeared in the feature film “Timeless” which he collaborated with his brother Chris and had the honor of debuting at the Sundance film festival as well as many other festivals world wide, eventually receiving a multi-city theatrical release. Some of Joe’s exploits as a journeyman actor are chronicled in “Tales from the Casting Couch” (Dove Books), but truth be told they are only the tip of the iceberg. Joe continues to pursue, ponder and preform the life of an actor, all the while sharing his life, with his wife Linda and their two boy’s Hudson and Spencer.
