John received his MA in Psychology from Columbia University before making the scary decision to do a career 180 and go back to his true passion. His degree comes in very handy when breaking down characters and creating backstories, so it turned out to be a blessing. John was then awarded a scholarship for a MFA program and studied acting with Susan Aston (the late James Gandolfini’s coach) at The Actors Studio Drama School and then with LAByrinth Theater Co. under the direction of Philip Seymour Hoffman. He has worked extensively on stage throughout New York and considers INTAR and LAByrinth Theater Co. his artistic homes. John has acted in many on-camera national commercials for companies such as Verizon and Dunkin’ Donuts and is a sought-after bilingual voice artist. He loves doing VO work and never leaves home without some kind of microphone! He has even recorded auditions while on vacation in the most remote of areas. His most recognizable voice work to date is a global campaign for Gatorade starring soccer superstar Lionel Messi called “No te caigas” or “Don’t Go Down” as well as playing the role of Dr. Serrano in EA’s hit game, Dead Space 3. He is also one of the voices of the Fox Deportes channel and a featured character in an upcoming major game franchise. If you need a laugh you can also watch "Argentinian Intervention" on YouTube (over 3 million hits between YT & FB) in which he plays - you guessed it - Argentina! A native New Yorker and fully bilingual Argentinian-American with accents and regionalisms for days, plus improv chops, his range is very real and takes direction very well. He's recently played the voice match for Colombian singer Maluma in a Super Bowl spot for Michelob Ultra, a teddy bear for The American Red Cross in both English and Spanish and completed the audio play of Romeo y Julieta for The Public Theater in NY, in which he acted alongside Oscar winner Lupita Nyong'o. Recent TV: HBO's The Deuce; CBS's FBI: Most Wanted. John has a home studio, with 3 pro mics to choose from (Sennheiser, Rode or CAD) going through an Avalon M6 pre-amp and Apogee Element interface or Motu M2 and @concado on Source Connect. His favorite teams are The NY Metropolitans and Argentina...dale campeon! Thanks for looking, muchisimas gracias! www.johnconcado.com and @concado on IG for even more.
